These are extracts that interest me as I read through the 150-page log covering 1957-68. Absence of particular topics should not be interpreted as ECW’s not having recorded them. For example, he notes down many sports events and the results, whereas I shall pick out only those with additional comments; he mentions the meetings of every society (without other comments, usually); he gives full details of examinations and rooms; he mentions many visits and visitors relating to careers, etc ….
The log ended when the “real” WBHS died in July 1968, and presumably ECW started a new logbook for Wood Green (Bilateral then) High School in September 1968.
Trevor Reece points out an interesting omission from ECW’s early log:
“ECW also makes no mention of his own teaching efforts. He certainly taught my year for Chemistry and Physics in the first two terms of his joining.”
