Sept-Dec 1965 (died in service)
Physics teacher. Not my favourite subject. But a nice, rather puritan young man in his first teaching job, who tragically died of a brain haemorrhage in his mid-20s. There was a memorial service in St Bart’s. Close friend of Andy Rimmer (Maths).
He had a unique, practical approach to teaching the principles of Physics. I recall his demonstration of how heat is transmitted by conduction – lining up a row of boys and pushing the end one to see the shock wave passing along.
