“Seen with statue modelled by one of the School’s old boys (Martin Wolverson) is Mr A D Legge, Art Master, and the Head Boy, Graham Fry. The statue was commissioned by the School and bought with money raised by the Parents’ Association.”

A small wooden shed used as a biology laboratory at Wednesbury Boys’ High School, St Paul’s Road, was destroyed by fire today.
Prompt action by firemen from Wednesbury and West Bromwich prevented the blaze from spreading.

“The headmaster, Mr E C Witcombe, is seen in his study, which was once part of the kitchen of the house where the school was started.”
